• 1. Foreign Inward Remittance:

  UPI stands out as a favoured payment method in India. BHIM enhances this payment experience by introducing the feature of Foreign Inward Remittance, making it the first to offer users the ability to receive international payments.

  By following the path mentioned below, you can provide your consent in the app. Once consent is given, your loved ones residing outside India can seamlessly send you money.

  To give consent, follow this path: Profile page -> Bank account section -> Click on the bank (only a few are eligible) -> Click on FIR -> The consent page will open, where you need to give your approval.

• 2. NRE (Non Resident (External) Account) /NRO (Non Resident (Ordinary) Account):

  Previously, only domestic numbers could be registered. With the new feature enhancement, users with NRE and NRO accounts and international numbers can now register and proceed with the onboarding journey on the BHIM app.

• 3. SBMD (Single Block Multiple Debit):

  With this super feature, user can create a payment mandate against merchant blocking fund in user account and will be debited once the product or services is received. This means that BHIM UPI app can be conveniently used for transactions such as e-commerce, SIP transactions, purchase of securities, etc.
